Description: Released on November 3, 2008, as the 50th and final coin in the 50 State Quarters Program, the Hawaii state quarter features King Kamehameha I gesturing toward the eight major Hawaiian islands, representing the state’s unity,, unique geography, and culture.

Key Design Elements & Details:

Reverse Side: Features King Kamehameha I, the monarch who unified the islands, with the inscription "UA MAU KE EA O KA 'AINA I KA PONO" (The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness).

Background: The design includes a map of the eight main Hawaiian islands.

Text Inscriptions: "HAWAII," "1959," and the state motto.

Obverse Side: Standard portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan.

Technical Specs: Composed of 75% copper and 25% nickel (clad), with a weight of 5.67 grams.
