Description: Released on October 15, 2001, as the 15th coin in the 50 State Quarters Program, the Kentucky quarter features a thoroughbred racehorse behind a fence with the Federal Hill mansion (site of "My Old Kentucky Home") in the background. It commemorates Kentucky's 1792 admission to the Union.

Key Features and Design Details:

Reverse Side: Designed by Donna Weaver (mint artist) (sculpted by James Ferrell), the design symbolizes the state's horse racing heritage and famous Bardstown home.

Theme: "My Old Kentucky Home".

Inscriptions: "Kentucky," "My Old Kentucky Home," and the statehood date "1792".

Obverse Side: Features the standard George Washington portrait by John Flanagan.

Composition: Copper-nickel clad.

Mint Locations: Produced in Philadelphia (P) and Denver (D).
