Drescription: The 2012 Benjamin Harrison Presidential $1 coin, authorized as part of the U.S. Mint’s Presidential Dollar series, features a portrait of the 23rd president on the obverse and a Statue of Liberty design on the reverse. It is a golden-colored, copper-alloy coin with edge-incused lettering for the date and mint mark.

Obverse Design:

Portrait: A likeness of Benjamin Harrison designed by Phebe Hemphill.

Inscriptions: "BENJAMIN HARRISON", "23rd PRESIDENT", "1889-1893", and "IN GOD WE TRUST".

Reverse Design:

Image: A striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty.

Inscriptions: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "$1".

Edge Incused Lettering:

The year of minting (2012), mint mark (P, D, or S for San Francisco), and the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" are incused on the edge.

These coins were minted in both Philadelphia ("P") and Denver ("D") for circulation, with proof versions produced in San Francisco. The coin commemorates Harrison's term, during which he focused on civil rights, veteran pensions, and foreign relations.
