Silver Weight: Each coin contains approximately 0.05626 troy ounces of pure silver.
Physical Specs: 5.00 grams in weight and 21.2 mm in diameter.
Identification Features: To help the Treasury sort these coins for later redemption, they were designed with a prominent visual change:
Large Mint Mark: A large P, D, or S is located on the reverse side, directly above the dome of Monticello.
First "P" Mint Mark: These coins marked the first time the Philadelphia Mint ever used a "P" mint mark on U.S. coinage.
Appearance: They tend to have a darker, slightly greenish tint compared to standard nickels due to the manganese content.
