Drescription: The 1892–1916 Barber dime, designed by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber, is a 90% silver coin (2.5 grams, 17.9 mm) featuring a neoclassical bust of Lady Liberty facing right, wearing a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath. The obverse is inscribed "LIBERTY" on a headband, while the reverse displays "ONE DIME" within an agricultural wreath.

Design & Key Features:

Obverse: Lady Liberty facing right, wearing a laureled Phrygian cap with a ribbon, surrounded by "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the date.

Reverse: A large wreath of corn, wheat, and cotton surrounds the words "ONE DIME".

Mint Marks: Located below the wreath on the reverse, with D (Denver), S (San Francisco), O (New Orleans), or no mint mark for Philadelphia.

Distinction: Unlike the Barber quarter and half dollar, the dime does not have stars on the obverse.

This series replaced the Seated Liberty design and was in turn replaced by the Mercury dime in 1916. Popular for coin collectors, these coins were produced for 25 years, with notable rarities including the 1894-S, 1895-O, and 1901-S.
